Hiding in neonatal calves

Completed
Led by Dr. Katy Proudfoot, Atlantic Veterinary College (UPEI) with student Hannah Spitzer and collaborator Miriam Gordon.
This project investigated whether calves would use a hide within a calving pen to perform their natural behaviour, and how this would affect stress indicators in both cow and calf during brief separations for milking.
